About this calculator
The Click-Through Rate (CTR) Calculator allows you to know how efficient your advertisements, emails, or web content are when it comes to clicks.
What is CTR?
CTR or Click-Through Rate is one of the measures of the frequency with which individuals can or cannot click on a link upon notice. It is in percentages and is determined by dividing the number of clicks with the number of impressions (times the link was displayed) and multiplying it with 100.
An example would be, say you ran your ad 1,000 times and your ad is clicked 50 times, this gives you a CTR of 5% of 1,000. When your CTR is high, it is an indication that your content is relevant and appealing to your audience, whereas when it is low, then you may need to improve your advertisement, headline, or targeting.
Marketers, advertisers and owners of websites utilize CTR to determine the effectiveness of campaigns, compare campaigns and enhance interaction. It is an easy yet an effective method of gauging the performance of your content in terms of action.
What is a good click through rate?
There is no standard value to a good click through rate (CTR) but rather it varies according to the channel, formatting, industry and the objectives of the campaign. The average search advertisement can be around 2-6, display banners 0.5, emails 2-5 and social 0.5-1.5, yet these are just an average. The most important thing is how your CTR will help you convert, achieve ROI, and grow in the long-term. Rather than pursuing a set number, benchmark against your own previous performance and industry rate, do creative and targeting optimization, and use CTR as well as conversion rate and cost per acquisition. Any good CTR is one that assists you in achieving your goals successfully.
